Members: My Page

From your Account / Profile menu (top yellow bar by the facebook icon) the 'my page' link is one of three available. As it's name suggests, 'my page' is all about you. There are a number of tabs available.

My Page for logged in users

About

Here you can write a few words about yourself to introduce yourself to others. Currently I believe that it is just your 'friends' (Other members that have added you as a friend) that have visibility. Needs investigation to confirm.

Groups

The Groups tab list the groups for which you are a member. Clicking on any group shown will take you to the groups home page. Although having logged in, going via the 'groups' tab from the top yellow member bar would be one less mouse click!

Documents

Not sure why this is here as the documents tab gives you the option to view/download any documents from the website. However, as this page is personal to you, it would have had to have been you to upload them in the first place! I suspect, that this functionality that is useful for Committee members and Group Coordinators was left here for 'ordinary members' by mistake. I can see no use for it. To be investigated further.

As above

Friends

The software gives you the option to create 'Friends' similar to popular social media platforms. If you add a friend, then you are given visibility of their 'my page', so you could read their 'About' text and view the groups they belong to etc.

Strangely, there is no agreement required from the 'friend' that you want to add. You can just go ahead and add them. If you want to unfriend them, then click the little black cross by their name and then confirm their removal.

Manage

The Manage tab is interesting, there are six sections to explore. Click on each section to expand it and see the detail inside.

Six sections of the Manage tab
Manage Membership Details

Here you can edit and update your personal membership details: Contact details address and so on. Having edited any text, remember to click OK at the end of that section to save it.

The data here is exactly the same as going via your profile and then 'Membership Details'. Same data, different screen. You could edit either of them.

Manage Categories, Images, Documents & Links

For you as a regular member, these are superfluous as mentioned above. They can be ignored.

Manage Options

In the manage options section, you can set your personal preferences. Five of the seven options allow you to change the colours for various elements of the web pages. one allows you to change the font and the final one allows you to change your initial page when you are logging in.

Manage Options

For the colours, select the option first, then the edit button, then back to the coloured square to select your new colour. Click Update to confirm your choice.

For the initial page and font, select the option first, then edit, back to the dropdown list of choices, select your choice then finish with the update button.

Get Membership Card

At the bottom of the Manage section is a link that will open up a pdf document for you with your membership card. The link goes green if you hover over it.
